Smoke and Mirrors will do their utmost to provide you with a safe and spectacular laser display at reasonable cost. Some things to bear in mind:

1. To secure a booking with us, we ask that you pay us a deposit of £50 in advance. This deposit is refundable in entirety if we cancel a show for reasons other than health and safety. It will also be refunded should you decide to cancel more than 14 days prior to a display.

2. We can, at a small extra charge, visit a venue (subject to reaonable travelling and subsistence costs) to assess suitability for a display. Some questions to ask prior to you making an enquiry are:

(a) Can we use a haze machine? Lasers without haze are like strawberries and creeam without strawberries. Many venues have smoke detectors, of which there are a few types. Those which trigger when a beam is blocked by airborne particles will think that haze is smoke, and bring the show to a premature end.

(b) Is the ceiling more than 3.5m high? If not, it may be unsafe to perform a display. Smoke and Mirrors are happy to undertake so-called "audience scanning" shows, but there is significant preparatory work involved and the cost for this will be rolled into the estimate we provide.

3. At Smoke and Mirrors we are well versed in the latest requirements for providing safe laser displays to the public. After all, we want everyone to admire and enjoy our shows! We take great care to ensure that everyone in a venue is safe to view the beams and sheets of light without compromising the spectacle. However, we reserve the right to stop any laser display if the operator deems that there is a risk to health and safety in continuing. You may still be charged for the display.
